Company Policies
(not applicable to the Advisory Board)
General Expectations
Attend all Stockyards Theatre Project events, including Benefits and other Fund Raising activities and the
opening night of each production.
Participate in strike for each production.
Promote and support each Stockyards Theatre Project event and production and the organization as a whole.
Contribute time, energy, resources and finances to the best of each individual’s ability.
“In Writing” Policy
To better facilitate communication, all correspondence must be put in writing.
Muse Meetings will be prepared and distributed by the Muse Manager. Minutes of meetings of the Board of
Directors will be prepared and distributed by the Board Secretary. Minutes must be distributed within ten days of the meeting.
Any distributed materials have a one-week window in which Company members may submit comments for revisions.
These comments must be submitted in writing via email or hard copy.
If a topic requires (or provides) lengthy discussion, the instigator of the topic must prepare a summary
of the discussion(s), a clear description of the final consensus, and any subsequent steps that need to be taken. This summary
must be distributed to those involved in the discussion as well as the Artistic Director.
Casting Policies
Stockyards Theatre Project has a Muse Ensemble and a group of Artistic Associates who are given “first-look”
for all Stockyards productions. A part is not guaranteed, but every effort is made to provide opportunities for our Company
members.
Company members are always invited to callbacks for each production. If needed or desired, the director
may conduct a Company audition prior to the callbacks; this audition may consist of sides from the script. Company members
are not required to perform a standard monologue audition.
If two actresses, one Company and one non-Company, are up for a role and have equal talent and availability,
the role in question is given to the Company member.
