Stockyards Theatre Project’s production of Busting Out! a voluptuous evening of comedy is a affirmative challenge of the Beauty Myth.  The evening’s hilarious performances are about breaking free from the limitations that society imposes on women: the idea that there is a certain way women are supposed to look, act, speak, and think in order to be acceptable and loveable.

Busting Out! is a celebration of being yourself—the best version of yourself.

“…the disparity between women’s experience and the representation of human development…has generally been seen to signify a problem in women’s development.  Instead, the failure of women to fit existing models of human growth may point to a problem in the representation, a limitation in conception of the human condition, an omission of certain truths about life.”
