2004 was the first full season produced under the new leadership team and was dedicated to identifying the strengths of women throughout history. In addition to hosting Women's Theatre Alliance's New Play Development Workshop and New Play Festival, Stockyards continued the 2003-04 Salon Series with the January Salon (Karen Zacarias' The Sins of Sor Juana), March Salon (No Sense Saying Goodnight, an adaptation of Dorothy Parker's works) and the May Salon (four original short plays by female playwrights). Stockyards continued to tell the stories of historical women with Tom Kempinski's Duet for One, Shame the Devil! An Audience with Fanny Kemble by Anne Ludlum and Bald Grace, Pirate Queen by Marki Shalloe. Stockyards concluded the season with the popular 5th Annual Women's Performance Art Festival (Rebel Princesses).

Dawn Alden and Michele DiMaso
Dawn Alden and Michele DiMaso perform in Duet for One at Victory Gardens.
"Exquisite...DiMaso is brilliant in a demanding, highly physical role...There's not a false note in Lynn Ann Bernatowicz' superb direction and inspired casting....nothing more is needed than the confrontation between two excellent actors--and that's what we get in this fine Stockyards production." (Beverly Friend, Lerner News)
